Today has been a very exciting day filled with so many announcements! And we have yet another one to share with you that is very close to my heart.

This August guests at Walt Disney World Resort and will be able to see Princess Elena, Disney’s first princess inspired by diverse Latin cultures.

La princesa Elena will debut in the Disney Channel series “Elena of Avalor” this summer. A teenager in fairytale kingdom, Elena adds a new dimension to the Disney-princess world.

Elena will appear this summer in Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort.

I know that you are eager to know more about Elena … I know I am! But until we meet her, know that she is a bold, aventurera princess, whose love for her kingdom of Avalor, and most importantly, her familia, fuels her magical adventures.

She is surely una princesa for everyone!

  • We are planning to go in June 2017. My 3 yr old daughter loves Elena. Will she be there then and where can we meet her at?

  • How long will she be at Disney World? Will she have a meet n’ greet?

  • the date is august 11 ,2016 at 10:30 am ? we wont make it we were just there this past weekend

  • Do they have an exact date in August for when she’ll be at Disney? We’re going mid-August and my kids are hoping she’ll be there when we’re there.

  • Everyone, keep in mind that Elena of Avalor will be a Disney Channel series, not Disney Junior. Even though Elena of Avalor takes place in the same universe as Sofia the First, “Elena”is intended to be its own, stand alone series.

  • This is SO exciting! I’m so happy my daughters will finally have a princess that reflects them and their mommy! I can’t wait to be at her debut! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE don’t debut her during a blackout date for your Silver Annual Pass members!! I would be devastated!

  • I say BOO to the plans for PE. From all the other sites, she will take over Elsa/Anna in PFH. I don’t agree with this. Disney Junior has all their characters in Hollywood Studios. PE should be there as well. It would have been nice to have Snow White and Aurora/Sleeping Beauty or another “classic movie” princess. They have Cinderella/Rapunzel in one half. Merida has a spot, Bell has her storytime. Ariel has her grotto. Tiana is in Liberty Square.

So while PE may have a great story, I just don’t see how she will fit into the themeing of MK.

  • I suppose that means that the Gran Fiesta Tour will be replaced with a Journey to Avalor ride sometime in the future. Sigh…I miss Maelstrom.

  • Very excited to hear more about and get to know this new princess. From the sound of it, with this new princess being from the kingdom of Avalor, sounds related to the Sofia the First franchise (Sofia was given the Amulet of Avalor from her father, King Roland), which will be a great tie-in to explore. And yes, if you’re wondering, I have a little daughter who is heads over heels into Sofia the First! (and has her Daddy into it too).

  • She’s supposed to be a spinoff friend of Sofia the First, and a teenager, so she’ll be a face character (unlike Sofia)?

  • so… will she be a replacement for Merida at Fairytale Gardens or for A&E in Fairytale Hall
